The All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory of the Boston Harbor islands has recorded 1800 species so far. Among the insects of interest found in our local area are Nicophorus tomentosa, a burying beetle, and Polyergus spp. ants, slave making parasites of Formica spp. ants.
