The Seal of the Cambridge Entomological Club

The seal of the Cambridge Entomological Club was designed by A. P. Morse and adopted by the Club in 1922. It shows a White Moutain Butterfly Oneisis melissa semidea against Mount Washington and the rest of the presidential range (White Mountains, New Hampshire). The seal appears on the cover of each issue of Psyche.

The below image of the seal was created from a lantern slide found in the club archives, and scanned at the Harvard OEB Media Center. Thanks to Gary Alpert. Historical information from Psyche 81:24, 1974.
